Student Placement Wage Subsidies Program
AFPA has received funding from the Alberta Government to support work integrated learning placements in the food processing industry. This funding will support up to 90 student placements per year for the next three years – to December 31, 2025.
Wage subsidies of 50% to a maximum of $5,000 are available for temporary positions to hire current post-secondary students and people who graduated less than six months ago. Duration must be at least 200 hours and can take place at any time during the year.
Placements can be in any area relevant to the industry, including:
- Nutrition
- Food science
- Production
- Agriculture
- Technologists
- Logistics
- Safety
- Engineering
- Accounting and finance
- Human resources
- Business
- IT
- Etc.
